New Year, New Me…

New Look for 2023

Some people have been asking me if I am going through something that I seemingly drastically decided to chop off all my hair on a whim. I want to let you know that all is well. I feel like I have been cocooning for the past few months and I have been entertaining the idea of cutting all my hair off since this summer.

So what happened was that while I was getting the protective styles installed back this summer I went to this lady with a salon by me she shall remain nameless, but she did give me severe heat damage and I have been trying to do treatments for the past 8 months and nothing was reviving my curls or coaxing them back. Since I practice what I preach I decided to shed and chop it all off. I was hesitant because my brother’s wedding is coming up this June, but my hair grows quickly and it is just hair. So, get used to this new lewk. I absolutely love it and its so low maintenance.

Hola Comadres,

Life updates:

This past week was hectic I was called from your internet nephews school asking me to come get him. Just to give some background information I received a text message from the bus matron telling me that he had been coughing nonstop. I found it odd because that morning he was fine and hadn’t coughed even once. Well, they took him to the nurse’s office and he was made to quarantine until I arrived. Well I took a cab round trip and headed straight to the pediatrician’s office. An hour later, a PCR, and Rapid test later the nurse pulls me inside the triage to tell me that “Aidan está Coronao” you have to love uptown 😂. Well the recommendation was to quarantine for the next 5 days. Fun times… well I have been home with my nino for the past few days his cough sounds really bad. I have been giving him medicine and making him “noodle soup” as he calls it. Hopefully he shakes this soon, it is so hard to be a single mom without the help of a co-parent. These are the times where I wish I had a partner… soon come though.
